For older babies, not toddlers We got this as a gift for our almost two-year-old daughter for Christmas. I was disappointed in this size of it – this Elmo is probably only 10 inches tall. The arms have a stiff wire in them to control the arms, so it’s not very cuddly. In order to make Elmo “peek-a-boo”, you have to squeeze and hold his tummy, which is difficult for me, a 26 year old woman to do, much less my little toddler with only budding motor skills. I’m the one who ends up having to make him peek-a-boo for her, which she doesn’t find enjoyable. This is a toy more for an adult to play with an older baby with, not for toddlers who want to play independently.

It’s the perfect size for her to carry around the house and snuggle with in the car. It has held up surprising well with my rough child. My daughter tends to grab Elmo’s arms and yank on them and push and pull them herself (instead of holding his belly) but his arms have not bent or moved. Overall I am happy with this product, but would be nice if Elmo said a few more things.
